This Dark Age

A manual for life in the modern world.

NOTICE:
This Dark Age is now available in paperback on Amazon. The print version is MUCH cleaner than this online version, which is largely unedited and has fallen by the wayside as the project has grown. If you’ve appreciated my writing, please consider leaving a review on the relevant paperback volumes. The print edition also includes new sections (Military History, War Psychology, Dogmatic Theology).

Jus ad bellum, or “the right to go to war”

First we must make a distinction between the decision to go to war and the proper behavior during war. This is because the state of war differs from the state of peace, and it would be inappropriate to judge each action in the midst of war as we would judge an action in times of peace. The principles guiding the decision to go to war fall under a heading known as jus ad bellum or “the right to go to war.”
